Spy X Family - What Makes this Anime So Popular?

Image
Tatsuya Endo - Spy X Family on Crunchyroll The anime that seems to be on everyone’s lips deserves the hype. When it first started airing in Japan, and the rest of the world from the beginning of April to almost all of June 2022, on TV Tokyo, it was only available for paid Crunchyroll Fan tier or higher. Now though, you can watch the Simuldub on selected streaming services, such as Netflix, depending on your country. I found when I started watching Simuldub English and switched to Japanese to see the differences that the series is charming and unique, not dumping too much backstory or internal commentary too early. There are always subtle differences in language and the nuance of the voice actors, which intrigued me. Loid Forger, in the English dub, played by Alex Organ , has some complexity but is still warm and caring while being firm with Anya. The Japanese dub by Takuya Eguchi makes him sound a little stricter and much more burdened, but he has his sweeter moments as he loose...

Elton John's Farewell Tour: Tickets Sell Out at Glastonbury as Iconic Singer/Songwriter Steps Back  (Elyse Jankowski/Stringer/Getty Images North America) Many know of Elton John and his famous music tracks, but not many will know his reason for retiring soon.   The famous icon first made his foray into music when he started to play the family’s piano at three years old and taught himself to play.   He also was part of a band as a teenager, called Bluesology, and has shared a stage with many other well-known singers and musicians, many of whom were his friends.   In fact, During a 1974 performance at Madison Square Garden, Elton John coaxed John Lennon up to the stage to perform a duet with him. Lennon performed three songs with Elton, and the appearance marked the last time that he would sing in public.     Due to his prolific performances, Sir Elton has had more than fifty years on tour and is the first headliner to be announced for the Glastonbu...

Harry and Meghan- The Reception to the Netflix Show Kevin Mazur/Getty Images The Royals have always had a strange relationship with the media. From the first broadcast, the Queen did to her Coronation being on television in 1953 to the Royal Family documentary that got hidden in the Royal Vaults for making the Royal family look ‘Too vulnerable and normal’ in 1969, at a time of social change and political unrest. However, we have come a long way since then. Or have we? Despite the efforts of multiple members of the Royal family to modernise it, some unconventional and outdated opinions still seem to be present from both the public and the Royal family themselves, perhaps a part of the turbulent history of the British monarchy. I even experienced this when asking a family member what they thought on the day of Harry and Meghan’s wedding as we were watching the broadcast. The opinion of the older member of my household seemed to be that “Meghan was too much like Wallis Simpson sinc...

The Game is now familiar to many of all ages, whether you remember it from not being allowed to play it in the 80’s because there was a scare about the demonic characters to the fame it garnered from Stranger Things when the children play it in the Prologue to the first season’s episode.  Even more attention was paid to the tabletop game in 2020, with Discord, a popular social media app that works for Mac, Windows and Linux as well as phones allowing people to Videochat and voice call to play the tabletop game or even use voice chat and screen share websites like Roll20, which allow players to play a game of DND, with virtual pieces, and dice.  According to GameDaily.Biz , Wizards of the Coast, the original company that came up with Dungeons and Dragons, had a huge boom in sales in 2020, making the number of players now around 50 million worldwide and giving them sev...
